Transition piece is fixed in place ready for the cabling to be completed

A transition piece is positioned on the foundation pile. The transition piece will be pre-installed with features such as boat landing arrangement, cathoc protection, cable ducts for sub-marine cables, turbine tower flange, etc.

The transition piece makes it possible to raise the towers to a completely vertical position even though the foundation pile itself is not completely vertical.

FOUNDATION INSTALLATION COMPLETED
On Tuesday 19 October the last of the 30 monopiles was installed, and the MPI Resolution left the site after a successful effort.
The installation works have lasted about 61 days or 2 days per foundation, including the required transportation trips to Belgium to collect 5 complete foundations. This is very satisfactory, especially as the weather has been quite poor for the season. In addition, vessel leg penetration into the seabed has in some cases exceeded 10 metres.

The completion of the installation works has been achieved one month ahead of the original time schedule. However, diving teams will continue working on the foundations to complete the internal tubes for the submarine cables between the turbines and cables to shore.
